Our Story

Alabama Awnings has been servicing the outdoor accessory and awning needs of Florence and the surrounding areas since 1986. Polly Hicks was casually perusing the store’s inventory when they found out the owner was looking to retire and sell the store. Polly leaped at the opportunity and became a business owner in 1997.

Our extensive portfolio consists of a variety of customized residential and commercial additions. We work individually with each and every customer to maintain the reputation we have built, and we absolutely cannot wait to hear what you have to say. My first call was answered by Collins who was great to answer my questions and he sent out the salesman to measure and meet with us within a few days later. We paid a deposit of half the full price. Our awning is absolutely top quality built by SunPro. Frame and supports are very substantial. The installers were very professional and did an outstanding job. The awning is Sunbrella material and is absolutely stunning. We called several different companies before choosing Alabama Awnings but we are so glad we went with them.
